Workday Payroll Consultant
We are not accepting C2C or 1099 arrangements.
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Approved locations: Minneapolis, MN and Chandler, AZ)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Consultant to join our Payroll Product Team. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Technology, and Executive Leadership to support and enhance Workday Payroll solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong Workday Payroll expertise with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment.
This position offers the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Workday Payroll initiatives.
- Configure and support Workday Payroll solutions to meet business and operational needs.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Technology teams, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Create and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and related documentation in Jira.
- Support Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, testing, and release activities.
- Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience working with Workday, including requirements gathering, system configuration, and testing.
- 5+ years of experience supporting the Workday Payroll module.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Experience creating and managing user stories and requirements in Jira.
- Strong testing and quality assurance experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Workday Payroll Certification.
- Experience partnering with executive-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deep expertise in Workday Payroll processes and functionality.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- A customer-focused mindset with attention to detail and quality.
- The ability to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
