The Claims Consultant is responsible for handling claims of varying complexity and severity across Commercial Auto, Hired/Non‑Owned Auto, and or third‑party general liability lines. This includes managing both attorney‑represented and non‑attorney‑represented matters. The role requires advanced technical claims expertise, sound judgment, strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to develop and execute effective resolution strategies.
- Efficiently manage assigned claims from initial report through resolution, ensuring timely and accurate coverage analysis and communication.
- Direct and manage investigative activities, including gathering statements, reviewing evidence, and coordinating with vendors and experts.
- Establish and maintain appropriate reserves promptly and accurately throughout the life of the claim.
- Make recommendations on claims processes and proactive resolution strategies; collaborate with management and senior leadership on higher severity claims.
- Regularly present claim status and resolution strategies to leadership, including senior leadership.
- Apply advanced claims technical knowledge to evaluate liability, damages, and recovery potential.
- Participate in round tables and authority discussions; mentor and coach team members as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, legal developments, and policy changes impacting claims handling.
May perform other functions as assigned.
Qualifications- 5+ years’ experience.
- Professional designations (AIC, SCLA, CPCU) preferred.
- Prior claims handling experience in commercial lines, including auto and liability.
- Advanced technical and operational claims skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Ability to obtain adjuster licenses in required states.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Additional professional degrees, (J.D./M.B.A) considered.

Benefits- Base Salary Range: $80k-$120k

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
