Berger Montague PC is a nationally renowned civil litigation firm consisting of over 95 attorneys. The Firm pioneered the use of class actions in antitrust and securities litigation, and since then, has expanded the use of class actions in the fields of consumer, employment, environmental, and insurance litigation, as well as in the areas of civil and human rights.

We have a busy national practice and are looking to add an attorney to our firm, preferably to our Minneapolis office, although we are open to candidates admitted in any US jurisdiction. The position involves working on individual cases in the Firm’s Fair Credit Reporting Act department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the identification and development of new cases by speaking with potential clients and requesting and assessing pertinent documents and legal theories.
  • Perform factual and legal research.
  • Draft pleadings, pretrial motions, and briefs.
  • Participate in discovery, including drafting written discovery, conducting meet and confer sessions, and analyzing documents and preparing for, taking, and defending depositions.
  • Assist in preparing cases for trial.
  • After training, effectively litigate and manage a caseload of individual Fair Credit Reporting Act cases to be filed in federal district courts throughout the country.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery and motion practice. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Candidates should have strong academic credentials as well as robust analytical, research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Candidates must have a strong work ethic and an ability to manage and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Candidates must be desirous of a job that will eventually require them (after training) to litigate and manage their own caseload of individual FCRA cases.
  • Candidates should be licensed to practice law in at least one United States jurisdiction, preferably Minnesota, Pennsylvania, or California.
