About:

A premium national law firm are seeking an Associate to join its Litigation department in their Minneapolis office location.

The firm is well established with 11 offices nationwide and a platform of over 300 attorneys. The team has experience working on matters in both national and international disputes. The groups representational experience includes civil fraud, complex cross-border disputes, consumer class action, and multi-district litigation.

Experience:

• Candidates must have over one year of experience in a relevant law firm setting.
• Experience with all aspects of commercial litigation, including drafting and responding to complaints, discovery, motion practice, trials, and appeals, and have strong research and writing skills.
• Exposure to mass tort and product liability litigation; class action litigation experience is also helpful.
• Experience handling high-stake litigation for sophisticated clients around the globe.
• Familiarity with working on matters at both a national and international level.
• Familiarity with managing electronic discovery, including managing document collections and vendors is a plus.
• Experience with depositions, motion practice, and handling oral arguments is a plus.
• Trial experience is beneficial.
• Excellent academic records, as well as superb skills in writing, communication, interpersonal, and analytical.
• A relevant Juris Doctorate Degree is a must have.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Taking and defending depositions and related work with witnesses and experts.
• Working on all aspects of disputes from inception through trial and appeal.
• Supporting the team on business development and other litigation-related matters.
