Sky Water is partnering with a growing engineering firm in the Twin Cities who’s looking to hire a Procurement Manager for their team! This is a newly created position due to continued company growth, and the Procurement Manager will build & own the company’s external supplier network. This includes developing a reliable base of fabrication & machine shops, specialty manufacturers, and service providers who can support custom, one-of-a-kind projects for clients across a handful of industries (aerospace/defense, large, custom equipment, etc.).

Responsibilities:
- Build and grow a network of outside suppliers (fabricators, machine shops, metal manufacturers, etc.).
- Work with suppliers to get better pricing/contracts, lead times, guaranteed capacity, etc.
- Visit supplier facilities periodically to see product capability and quality.
- Source new suppliers while factoring their technical ability, quality track record, reliability, and price.
- Work with suppliers on any issues that arise and negotiate a resolution that works for the company.
- Help internal teams line up the right suppliers for each job/project.
- Keep project teams and leadership in the loop on vendor performance and risk.
- Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.
Desired
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or a related position (or combination of positions).
- Experience working with and building relationships with fabrication shops, machine shops, or similar suppliers/vendors.
- Proven ability to build & manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing or contracts.
