Role Description

The Purchasing Generalist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotes, issuing purchase orders, and tracking deliveries to support production schedules. The Purchasing Generalist collaborates with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure materials, components, and services meet quality, cost, and timing requirements.

Typical tasks include maintaining vendor relationships, monitoring inventory levels, resolving order and invoice discrepancies, and updating purchasing records and reports. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and helps identify cost-saving and supply chain optimization opportunities.

Qualifications
  • Strong purchasing, procurement, and supplier management skills, including experience with sourcing, quoting, and negotiating with vendors.
  • Experience with inventory control, materials management, and coordination between purchasing and production or operations.
  • Proficiency using ERP or MRP systems and basic office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, and email) to manage orders and data.
  • Solid analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail in pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Background in manufacturing, industrial, or technical environments; experience with components or tooling is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site full time in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Associate or bachelor s degree in engineering, supply chain, operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
