Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Roers Companies is seeking a Director of Purchasing to lead procurement for our dynamic real estate, rental, and leasing portfolio. In this role, you will design and execute purchasing strategies that support investment, development, and property management projects across the housing spectrum. You will source and negotiate with vendors and contractors, optimize material and service costs, and ensure quality and compliance.
Partnering closely with development, construction, and operations teams, you will forecast needs, manage RFP/RFQ processes, and analyze spend to drive savings and efficiency. As a key leader in our entrepreneurial, collaborative culture, you will mentor a small team and influence company-wide purchasing best practices, helping us deliver high-quality projects and strong community impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead company-wide purchasing strategy for real estate development and property management projects
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with vendors, contractors, and suppliers
- Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and cost-control standards
- Partner with development, construction, and operations teams to forecast and plan material and service needs
- Monitor supplier performance, quality, and compliance; resolve issues and renegotiate terms as needed
- Analyze spend data to drive savings, efficiencies, and risk mitigation
- Manage preferred vendor lists and build strategic supplier relationships
- Oversee RFP/RFQ processes and contract lifecycle management
- Develop and manage the purchasing budget; report on KPIs to senior leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small purchasing/procurement team
Required Skills
