Tool Crib & VMI Specialist

Productivity Inc seeks a Tool Crib & VMI Specialist to manage tooling and MRO inventory for manufacturing customers. In this hands-on role, you'll oversee tool crib organization, vendor-managed inventory, and replenishment to keep CNC machines and automation running smoothly. You'll perform cycle counts, track usage, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to prevent stockouts and reduce downtime. Working on-site at customer facilities, you'll support machinists with the right tools, maintain accurate records, and help drive continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Manage tool crib inventory, issuing and receiving cutting tools, MRO supplies, and consumables for manufacturing customers
• Monitor usage and maintain accurate VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) levels at customer sites to prevent stockouts and downtime
• Perform regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and keep inventory records accurate in ERP or inventory systems
• Coordinate ordering, replenishment, and returns with suppliers, inside sales, and purchasing teams
• Organize and label tooling, fixtures, and supplies to ensure a safe, efficient, and 5

• Support machinists and technicians in selecting and locating appropriate tools, hardware, and supplies
• Track tool life, usage trends, and consumption data to recommend cost savings and process improvements
• Create basic reports on usage, spend, and inventory performance for internal teams and customers
• Assist with implementation or expansion of VMI programs and crib layout changes at customer locations
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures while representing Productivity Inc at customer facilities
