Project Buyer II - Power SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking aProject Buyer IIto join our Power Teamthat willbe responsible for working with project teams and suppliers topurchasematerials, supplies, equipment and services.

• Establish andmaintainrelationships with suppliers:solicit bids, analyze quotations, interview prospective suppliers, and select suppliers along with evaluating supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery time

• Work with manager to develop profitable purchasing strategies and propose procurement solutions that deliver value and reduce risk

• Create andmaintainprocurement logs for each supported operating group project

• Negotiate and prepare purchase agreements andpurchaseorders. Ensure suppliers adhere to contractual terms and conditions, including timeliness and quality standards

• Negotiate with suppliers topurchaseitems and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements

• Analyze individual markets, handlebudgetand increase margin on a regular basis, track trends inpurchasinghabits

• Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams

• Visit project site to better understand project team challenges and develop streamlined procurement processes to be implemented

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience

• Minimum4years of experience

• Current driver’s license

• Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials,purchasing processes and procedures

• Negotiating, organizing, planning,verbaland communication skills

• Strong customer service and analytical skills

• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)

(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
