Job Description & How to Apply Below

** This role is for candidates who reside within 60 miles of our office in Southeast Minneapolis (hybrid).

About the Role

As the Sr. Demand & Inventory Planner
, you own in-stock performance across the assigned distribution and fulfillment channels, owned website (DTC), Amazon, and/or retail customers. This role plays quarterback for inventory success across the network, defined simply as the right items, in stock, in the right place, without overstock.

Working in a network of contract fillers, co-manufacturers, and third-party distribution partners, you are the single accountable point of connection between commercial demand signals and the supply actions required to meet them. The role blends rigorous forecasting, disciplined weekly execution, cross-functional facilitation, and system ownership of the planning toolset (Syteline and Slim4).

Success in this role looks like: items available when the consumer clicks and when the retail customer orders, replenishment triggered early enough to absorb lead time and upstream constraints, aging and excess inventory identified and acted on before it becomes a write-off, and a leadership team that trusts the numbers being presented.

What You’ll Do Demand Planning & Forecasting
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the demand forecast for all items across digital and retail channels, website, Amazon, and retail customers, at the item/location and item/customer level required to drive replenishment.
  • Facilitate the Demand Planning cycle with relevant commercial teams to collect, challenge, and incorporate forecast inputs such as promotional lifts, media spend, subscription trends, retailer programs and resets, point-of-sale and sell-through data, seasonality, and pricing actions.
  • Translate agreed demand into the planning system, ensuring the loaded forecast reflects the commercial plan and is reconciled to financial expectations.
  • Provide insights to demand performance for A items across DTC, Amazon, and retail channels. Highlight key outliers of performance.
  • Maintain visibility to the assumptions behind the forecast so that variances can be explained, not just measured.
Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) and Planning (S&OP)
  • Lead the weekly S&OE cadence across digital and retail channels: reconcile the near-term demand signal to actual performance, surface exceptions, and drive same-week decisions on expedites, reallocations, and constraint resolution.
  • Facilitate the semi-monthly S&OP touchpoints with commercial partners to align on forward demand, supply feasibility, and risk.
  • Own and lead the Channel Demand Review within the monthly leadership S&OP process — preparing the data, developing the tools and visuals, framing the decisions required, and presenting a clear narrative to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain reporting and dashboards that make inventory health, forecast performance, and channel risk visible for stakeholders.
  • Set, review, and adjust stock targets, safety stock, and reorder parameters for digital and retail items, balancing service against working capital.
  • Monitor stock levels across all digital and retail fulfillment and distribution nodes and trigger timely replenishment that accounts for replenishment lead time, filler and DC capacity, and upstream material or component constraints.
  • Balance retail (case-pack) and digital (single-pack) requirements when inventory, filler capacity, or components are shared, setting allocation and priority across channels based on service commitments, margin, and risk.
  • Escalate supply risk early with a recommended course of action, not just a flag.
Inventory Health, Overstock & Excess
  • Monitor overstock, slow-moving, and aging inventory across digital and retail fulfillment and distribution locations against defined in-range targets.
  • Facilitate the cross-functional forum required to make decisions on aging stock, marketing, finance, sales, and operations, driving to committed actions with owners and dates.
  • Maintain and track reason coding for excess and aging inventory so root causes are visible and addressable over time.
  • Report inventory position by location against target range and manage exposure to storage-cost and fee penalties in marketplace fulfillment (for example, Amazon long-term storage and capacity limits).
Product Lifecycle & Launch
  • Perform runout analysis for sun setting items: build the depletion plan, coordinate the last-buy or last-fill decision, and manage transition to successor items with minimal residual stock and no…
