Candidates should hold at least a 2-C boiler license. This role requires travel to multiple locations within our district and includes being on call throughout the week and select weekends (approximately every 6th weekend). The salary for this position starts at $23.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of a District Engineer, the Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the preventative/predictive maintenance program, general building safety/security, and safe, efficient operation of building systems. The MTII will be responsible for day-to-day duties including daily check lists and work orders, both scheduled and unscheduled.
Essential Functions:
Assist with the development and implementation of a preventative and predictive maintenance program which includes but is not limited to:
Maintain daily check logs on Pool, HVAC, Boiler, Utilities, Building Automation, and other essential systems.
Inspect HVAC and Boiler systems as PMs dictate for proper operation and maintenance needs including replacing filters and belts, greasing, and cleaning coils and other items as needed.
Perform audits as PMs dictate on safety systems including eyewash and emergency shower stations, emergency lighting, fire egress routes and alarms, fire extinguishers, AEDs, etc.
Coordinate contracted PMs on required systems (one-man lifts, RPZs, fire monitoring and sprinklers, etc.)Perform wholistic inspection of facilities for potential issues and repair as needed and/or report to District Engineer Maintain safe and organized work spaces within department assigned areas. Manage inventory of tools and supplies.
Learn, follow, and train best practices for provided tools, machinery, testing equipment, and chemicals. Ensure maintenance and affected staff follow best practices.
Learn and use methods for troubleshooting and repair in the areas of plumbing and fixtures, electrical, carpentry, lighting, mechanical, pool systems, irrigation, walls and floors/finishes, etc. Demonstrate troubleshooting process for other technicians.
Coordinate projects involving multiple technicians.
Utilize Building Automation System (Struxure Ware) to ensure proper operations of building systems. Troubleshoot known issues and communicate them with District Engineer Respond to daily maintenance needs of other departments as requested in maintenance work order request software (Facility Dude). Complete work order forms to ensure adequate communication.
Assist with long-range and short-range planning and execution of maintenance needs, building safety programs, and employee maintenance training.
Work with vendors to provide budgetary estimates for projects. Work with District Engineer to assess/decrease financial impact of current and future maintenance needs
Respond to urgent/emergency situations (fire, evacuation, power failure, pool closure, etc.) at all district sites on short notice.
Interact with members, staff, and contractors to build and maintain a positive environment. Communicate to staff best practices for safe and effective operation of facility systems as trained by maintenance leadership.
Carry a cellular phone for communication and for urgent/emergency situations.
Plan and provide security and safety oversight of the facilities and grounds. Have general knowledge of applicable code. Communicate requirements set by governing agencies and code (OSHA, state and local code, YMCA policy, etc.) to YMCA employees from other departments.
Attend/complete all job specific required training.
Perform other maintenance related responsibilities as assigned by the District Engineer or VP of Facility Services Relationships:
This position reports to the District Engineer who reports to the Vice President of Facility Services. The incumbent interacts regularly with branch departments in responding to member concerns regarding maintenance issues.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate degree in technical field or 2 years of technical related work experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience in facility operations and maintenance or related field
Current 2nd Class C license or ability to obtain one within 12 months of full-time employment
Current Certified Pool Operator's License (or equivalent) from the National Swimming Pool…
