Role DescriptionThe Maintenance Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN, responsible for organizing and overseeing day-to-day property maintenance activities. This role schedules and tracks work orders, coordinates preventive maintenance, and ensures timely response to residents’ repair requests. The Maintenance Coordinator collaborates with maintenance technicians and external vendors, monitors equipment performance, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment across properties.
The position also involves maintaining accurate maintenance records, supporting budget adherence, and communicating clearly with residents and team members to ensure high-quality service.
We’re looking for a go-getter who takes ownership, follows through, and gets things done. You do not need to come from the property management or maintenance industry to be successful in this role. What matters most is your ability to stay organized, communicate effectively, take initiative, and see things through from beginning to end.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability — once a maintenance request is assigned to you, you take responsibility for keeping it moving from initial request through final resolution and closeout.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple moving pieces.
- Proactive and resourceful — you don’t wait to be told every next step. You identify what needs to happen, follow up, solve problems, and keep things moving.
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple active requests and changing priorities at the same time.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, technicians, office staff, vendors, and other internal and external partners.
- Able to work independently and manage responsibilities without constant oversight while knowing when to ask questions or elevate an issue.
- Team-oriented and collaborative with the ability to work closely with maintenance technicians, office staff, vendors, and leadership.
- Strong follow-through — you stay on top of outstanding items and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Comfortable learning and using technology, including work-order and property management systems.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle conflict with professionalism and compassion
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus, but not required
