Job Summary

Freedom Works is a Christian community that provides residential reentry and recovery programming. Located in North Minneapolis, the Freedom Works campuses focus on creating a safe and encouraging environment that guides individuals into new relationships, positive support systems, and Christ-centered studies.

The Program Coordinator provides leadership, operational and day-to-day management of Freedom Works programs. This role ensures program effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and a structured, supportive environment. Working with the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for supervising staff workflows, managing participants, maintaining compliance with Housing Support requirements, and ensuring program and operational integrity. This role requires an ability to serve both as a leader and direct support, balancing administrative oversight with active engagement in participant care.

Key Responsibilities 1. Program Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide leadership and daily oversight of programming to ensure alignment with the ministry's mission, participant success, and operational excellence.
  • Implement and maintain program policies, procedures, and accountability standards.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and support ongoing program development.
2. Participant Engagement
  • Oversee participant placement, intake, and discharge processes.
  • Ensure completion of assessment and support individualized goal planning and program engagement.
  • Assist participants in navigating resources, personal needs and support.
3. Compliance, Documentation & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with county housing support, including documentation and reporting standards.
  • Oversee completion, accuracy, and organization of program documentation
4. Team Coordination
  • Supervise Associate Coordinators, providing direction, accountability, and task delegation.
  • Participate in staff development and training.
5. Administrative & Operational Coordination
  • Ensure a safe, structured, and well-functioning environment.
  • Maintain organized systems for tracking program activity, performance, and operational needs.
  • Participate in meetings, reporting, and organizational initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • Alignment with and commitment to Freedom Works mission, values, and faith-based approach to reentry and aftercare.
  • Experience in county housing support programs preferred, experience in recovery and/or reentry programming required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to establish strong boundaries and exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Must be able to pass a DHS background study and complete required mandated reporter training.
Physical Demands

This position requires a combination of administrative and active, on-site responsibilities, including walking throughout the facility, engaging with participants, and supervising program activities. The employee may be required to sit, stand, end, reach, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The role also requires the ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situation. Environment

This position operates within a residential program environment that requires consistent interaction with participants, staff, and external partners. The work setting includes both office-based responsibilities and active presence within program facilities. The role may require flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends, to support program operations and participant needs.
