You Are

You are a high level service leader responsible not only for delivering high-quality service work requests and small-scale construction projects, but also for independently scoping, estimating, and securing new work through exceptional client service. You blend technical expertise with strong client relationship management and business development instincts. Operating with a high degree of independence, you take full ownership of project delivery, from initial client consultation and proposal creation through execution and closeout.

By consistently exceeding expectations, you help build a strong pipeline of repeat business and referrals, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor and go-to resource for clients. You demonstrate leadership in the field, contribute to regional growth, and actively reinforce Gardner's reputation for hospitality, reliability, and service excellence.

How You'll Contribute

Project Delivery & Field Execution

  • Take ownership and accountability of project delivery of small to mid-sized projects from initiation to closeout
  • Lead and complete complex commercial repair and small construction projects, ensuring work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Oversee or coordinate with trade partners as needed, ensuring seamless integration of external work into project delivery.
  • Manage project schedule, day-to-day logistics, and client communication independently.
  • Perform general commercial repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Adapt techniques to fit field conditions and unforeseen challenges without compromising quality or safety. Provide timely, effective solutions to changing needs and unexpected issues.
  • Take full ownership of job site safety, including risk mitigation, and adherence to OSHA and Gardner's safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment at all times.
  • Lead by example in modeling a positive culture of safety for peers and trade partners. Practice enrollment before enforcement.
  • Ensure that work meets quality standards and specifications, and promptly address any issues or deficiencies
  • Identify problems quickly and implement thoughtful solutions to avoid project delays or disruptions
  • Conduct end-of-project walkthroughs
  • Represent Gardner on the job site, providing hospitality to all job site personnel and visitors
  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment that reflects company values

Project Scoping & Estimating

  • Independently assess project needs through site visits and client consultations, developing accurate scopes of work and cost estimates.
  • Prepare and submit complete proposals, including labor, materials, and schedules, without requiring additional oversight. Collaborate with Service Project Manager for final approval.
  • Identify opportunities to bundle work or propose value-added services during site visits.

Client & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building long-term relationships through responsiveness, professionalism, and hospitality.
  • Maintain a strong client presence before, during, and after project execution, ensuring satisfaction and identifying future needs.
  • Proactively generate repeat business and referrals through service excellence and consistent follow-through.
  • Build and sustain a steady pipeline of work through strong performance and word-of-mouth client growth.
  • Identify and pursue additional project opportunities during and after existing engagements.
  • Resolve client concerns with professionalism, focusing on long-term relationship success and timely resolution.
  • Ensure proactive follow-up and responsiveness within 24 hours for all client and partner communications.

Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Serve as a role model and informal mentor to other Service Technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Provide feedback to leadership on field operations, client insights, and potential areas for service improvement or expansion.

Administration

  • Submit accurate daily timecards and job documentation, including lobs and client follow-ups.
  • Manage calendar and email inbox effectively
  • Maintain accurate project records and keep data and systems (e.g., Field Point, Procore, Outbuild) up to date
  • Close out projects timely and professionally
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a carpenter in commercial construction.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a General Foreman or higher.
  • OSHA-10 certification.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
