Blattner is expanding our energy construction leadership into gas power generation. This is a unique opportunity to help build this new business from the ground up, backed by a company with decades of proven success in the energy sector. This position will help us shape the processes and standards that carry this business forward to deliver end‑to‑end hybrid energy solutions.

The Manager I - Site Safety leads a team of Safety Professionals to plan, implement, and oversee safety initiatives across large‑scale or complex projects. Develops site‑specific safety plans and directs programs related to accident prevention, environmental protection, and fire safety, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Approximately 75% of work time is spent in the field conducting assessments, interacting with crews and subcontractors, and providing guidance to safety staff and site leadership on complex safety challenges.

DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Leads a team of Safety Professionals, with responsibility for planning, implementing, and overseeing safety initiatives across large-scale or complex projects.
  • Directs the application of organizational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site. Monitors teams for patterns of unsafe behavior, ensures corrective action is taken, and escalates serious issues to senior leadership.
  • Provides leadership in interpreting and implementing advanced safety programs such as the Capacity Model. Ensures consistent execution across multiple projects and teams.
  • Oversees or leads investigations of incidents using regulatory and corporate compliance processes. Resolves compliance issues and advise site leadership on complex safety challenges.
  • Acts as a recognized subject matter expert and authority on on‑site safety. Coaches and mentors safety personnel, site teams and subcontractors on hazard recognition and elimination.
  • Oversees compliance with Drug and Alcohol Testing, Medical Treatment, and Return‑to‑Work programs. Ensures incident management responsibilities are executed consistently across the site.
  • Directs audit activities and reviews findings with leadership. Ensures corrective actions are implemented and documented.
  • Oversees frequent HSE risk assessments and development of Risk Assessment Matrices. Ensures environmental hazards across trades are identified and mitigated.
  • Provides authoritative guidance on safety processes and policies to crews, subcontractors, and external stakeholders. Communicates site‑specific issues to leadership for policy revision when necessary.
  • Develops and oversees execution of site‑specific communications plans. Ensures timely and effective dissemination of safety information.
  • Facilitates safety presentations during site, owner, and corporate kickoffs. Establishes clear expectations for safety performance at project initiation.
  • Leads startup activities including Emergency Response planning, policy identification, signage deployment, and site orientation. Ensures site‑specific safety materials are developed and distributed.
  • Directs execution of Emergency Response Plans, ensuring readiness and compliance across the site.
  • Oversees collection and analysis of safety data using established tools. Mentors team members in data‑driven decision‑making and analytics.
  • Ensures preparation of complex documents and special reports, including Serious Event Reports (SER). Reviews and validates findings for leadership and regulatory agencies.
  • Promotes continuous development of self and team through training, coaching, regular feedback, and external accreditation. Stays current on technology, regulations, and industry best practices to strengthen organizational safety performance.
