About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Machine Set‑Up Technician to join our team. You will set up and operate grinding machines to produce top‑quality cutting tools, ensuring adherence to specifications. You will work collaboratively with Machine Operators and Set‑Up Technicians and report directly to the Shift Facilitator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate grinding machines to grind internal and external surfaces of metal work pieces according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and job cards for product specifications, including dimensions, tolerances, and quantities.
  • Install and adjust machine components to ensure proper machine functionality.
  • Set machine controls for specified grinding speeds, feed rates, and wheel angles.
  • Verify finished workpiece dimensions for conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
  • Maintain efficient operations to maximize machine productivity.
  • Troubleshoot machinery to resolve operational issues and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Assist in machine operation when needed.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and input inventory for accurate documentation of operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training opportunities.
What You Will Bring:

Experienc
e: 1‑3 years of relevant experience in machine setup or a similar role.

Education
:
High school diploma or GED.

  • Strong ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Availability to work full‑time with reliable attendance.
  • Willingness to learn and train as needed.
