The Tooling Manager leads all Tool Room operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality tooling, and alignment with business objectives. This role provides hands‑on technical leadership, manages and develops staff, supports mold repair and new tooling, and drives continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily Tool Room operations, scheduling, productivity, quality, and safety
- Oversee mold repair, tooling documentation, and working drawings
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate Tool Room staff
- Provide technical support for new mold designs and quality assurance
- Drive continuous improvement, SOPs, and process documentation
- Prepare tooling quotations and support customer and sales activities
- Perform minor machine maintenance and occasional travel as needed
- 3+ years of experience in tooling, mold making, or precision machining
- Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment and tooling processes
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Proven leadership and organizational skills
- CAD experience and continuous improvement exposure preferred
