Chemical Manufacturing Engineer

Responsible for conducting manufacturing, writing quality documentation, and chemical safety operations. This entry level position will work with the production manager and quality team on production, testing, and packaging of numerous chemical compositions used to coat medical devices, biosensors, and high-value industrial surfaces.

• Effectively communicate and collaborate across quality, and research & development departments
• Perform material studies and research to mitigate the risks of supply chain interruptions
• Collaborate with the research & development team to bring new processes into production
• Generate production process instruction protocols (SOPs, WIs, BRs, etc.)
• Perform root cause analysis on nonconformances in production processes
• Write and edit CAPA documentation associated with nonconformances and communicate strategic responses to management
• Perform validation for processes, equipment (IQ/OQ/PQ), and materials. Write and edit associated documentation
• Plan, design, and execute production process scale‑ups/improvements and new equipment validation
• Plan and advise on research projects, act as a subject matter expert on production processes
• Create and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring chemicals and other physical hazards are properly stored, used, and labeled. Respond appropriately to spills and other safety incidents and conduct routine chemical safety drills

• Chemistry/industrial coating experience is a plus
• Mechanical inclination and problem‑solving abilities required
• Familiarity working with chemicals and reading Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) required
• Experience/training with Quality Management Systems and QMS documentation, particularly the ISO 9001:2015 standard
• Ability to perform responsibilities in compliance with the internal quality system
• Adherence to all company safety, health, and hygiene policies, procedures, and directives
• Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Must be able to occasionally lift 100 pounds
• ISO cleanroom experience preferred

• Minimum 2 years of production experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in medical devices or advanced coatings technologies
• Experience with large‑scale chemical reactions (75 grams or larger) preferred
• Experience with preparing, analyzing, and use‑testing chemical compositions for surface coating preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering or 2+ years related technical/scientific field
