General SummaryThis position is responsible for welding on a variety of items, which may be subject to heavy stress or load. Welding is performed primarily for mechanical strength.
Essential Functions- Responsible for welding a variety of items that may be subject to heavy stress or load.
- Responsible for the quality of work performed in the welding area.
- Accountable for using caution in handling equipment, tools, and parts.
- Responsible for the general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily production.
- Responsible for good housekeeping practices in the welding area.
- Abides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company, including good common sense safety practices.

Skills And Abilities
Required
Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED plus one‑year certificate from college or technical school and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of experience and training.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
