Materials Specialist

What's in this position for you?

Monday - Friday (2:00pm - 10:00pm)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to **:*
* + Responsible for raw material and non-stock receipts, finished goods distribution and the coordination of material movement between warehouse and production areas.

+ Responsible for inventory management and inventory control metrics in a 24/7 shop environment.

+ Pulling material from warehouse for shop use and ensuring material is issued to correct location  with all necessary information: position, serial number, removal reason, service sheet.

+ Daily performing cycle counts to find and correct inconsistencies in inventory on hands.

+ Weekly managing stockouts, including obtaining updated estimated times of arrival for completely stocked out parts or parts low on stock.

+ Forecasting material needs for inbound and in-shop locomotives and pulling in any needed material in the timeliest and cost efficient manner.

+ Arranging LTL and Expedite shipments using the Ryder portal as well as ensuring correct paperwork is attached to all shipments and correct BOLs are used for proper billing.

+ Effectively using multiple software programs to order, receive, ship, and track material to and from the warehouse.

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

+ High School Diploma/GED

+ 2+ years working in a logistics or shipping/receiving environment

+

Experience with Inventory Management

+ Experience safely operating forklifts and other shop equipment

+ Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
