Job Overview

A chemical manufacturing company in the Minneapolis area is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support weekend operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.

This position works a 36-hour weekend shift but is compensated equivalent to a 40-hour workweek.
Key Responsibilities
  • Repair or replace defective equipment components using hand and power tools, then reassemble equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth machine operation and reliable building systems.
  • Follow checklists to inspect drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and other critical components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, drills, saws, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices.
  • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, pipe systems, electrical and electronic components, and mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using blueprints, manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Inspect and test machinery to pinpoint malfunctions.
  • Record maintenance and repair work, including cost and materials used.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery components such as bearings, gears, and shafts.
  • Dismantle mechanical devices with hoists, cranes, and tools to access defective parts.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility required.
