POSITION SUMMARY
Set-up, operate, and tend machines to cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, insert, or straighten metal material.

Essential Functions Statement(s)- Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances.
- Position, align and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies. Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces, using hand tools and measuring devices.
- Set stops on machine beds, change dies, adjust components, such as rams or power presses, when making multiple or successive passes. Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools. Install, align and lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims and hand tools.
- Set up, operate and tend machines to punch, crimp, notch, bend metal per production specifications. Start machine, monitor their operations and record production data as required.
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers gauges, calipers, templates or rulers. Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges, or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
- Perform required cleaning, maintenance and safety inspections on press equipment, as outlined in Company procedures.

Required - Experience: No prior experience necessary but valued highly.

Skills:
Ability to learn and use Manufacturing ERP software for retrieving production work orders and recording production data. Ability to use electronic time keeping software for record arrival, departure and production operations. - Other Requirements: Ability to learn read and understand print reading and use of inspection tools, such as calipers. Mechanical aptitude required, lending to knowledge of machines and tools. Knowledge of mathematics required.
