Job Title
Rack & Tool Maker (Welder/Fabricator) / Maintenance Technician
Company and LocationAvtec Finishing / New Hope, MN
ShiftFirst Shift Monday‑Friday + OT as scheduled (schedule to be determined)
Compensation$30/hour + DOQ
Signing Bonus: $1,500
- American Welding Society (AWS) certification (must provide proof at interview)
- High school diploma or GED
- 2–5 years experience in tool making, fabrication, or industrial rack manufacturing
- Certification in machining, metal fabrication, or welding
- Regular and reliable attendance record
- Fluently read, write, speak, and understand English
- US citizen or authorized to work in the US
- Ability to read a ruler/tape measure and analog clock
- Attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions
- Good organizational and time‑management skills
- Basic math and geometry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable with computers, tablets, and basic MS Office
- Perform metal fabrication tasks including cutting, welding, grinding, drilling, and assembly.
- Design, build, and repair custom racks, fixtures, and tools based on blueprints, verbal instructions or production needs.
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and QA to develop efficient and ergonomic tooling solutions.
- Read and follow work orders/repair orders.
- Modify or repair existing racks and tooling to meet updated part designs or process changes.
- Conduct quality checks on tools and fixtures to ensure precision and durability.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Assist in the Maintenance Department as directed.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Performance reviews at 60 days, 6 months, then twice a year with potential raises
