Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

    Requirements:
  • 1-2 years' experience with CAD and drafting.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting equipment
  • Proficient computer and data analysis
  • Assists in the development, evaluation, or modification of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product
  • Assignments require considerable judgment, initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement methods
  • Quality systems and data entry experience

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical device industry
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing Environment
  • Trade certification / technical background desired but not essential

    Overview (Manufacturing Technician)

    This role is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. The technician will work closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to diagnose equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, manage spare parts inventory, and assist with equipment installations and assembly line modifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with CAD/drafting, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.

    Responsibilities
  • Responds to assembly line equipment repair calls, by diagnosing equipment problems, and performing the necessary repair
  • Document's equipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines, including preventative maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation of repair history in INFOR EAM
  • Maintains back-up equipment and ensures spare parts are maintained at the required levels, to meet manufacturing equipment needs
  • Assists manufacturing, and quality engineers in the operation of equipment
  • Provides equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime
  • Assist in the construction of worktables, providing necessary utilities, and setting up of equipment on manufacturing assembly lines
  • Modifies existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demands
  • Initiates or maintains work schedule and establishes priorities of work assignments
  • Solves a wide range of complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices
  • Selects methods and practices to obtain imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to questions
  • Maintains general knowledge of products/services associated with area and employees involved with specific product lines and services
  • Co-ordinates with calibration personnel of location of manufacturing equipment
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory
