We are seeking a talented Fabrication Manager to join our team. The Fabrication Project Manager will be responsible for creating and designing prototypes, components, and custom products using various fabrication techniques. This role requires a combination of creativity, technical proficiency, and hands-on skills to bring concepts to life through fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and design principles.
Key Responsibilities- Design Development:
Collaborate with engineering, product development, and design teams to conceptualize, develop, and refine designs for fabrication. Translate conceptual ideas into detailed design drawings and specifications. - Fabrication Techniques:
Utilize a variety of fabrication techniques such as welding, machining, sheet metal forming, and 3D printing to produce prototypes, parts, and assemblies. Select appropriate materials and processes based on design requirements and constraints. - Technical Documentation:
Create comprehensive technical documentation including assembly instructions, fabrication drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and material specifications. Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation for seamless production execution. - Quality Assurance:
Perform quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure they meet design specifications and standards. Identify and troubleshoot any issues during the fabrication process and implement corrective actions as needed. - Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams including creative, project managers, and the fabrication team to coordinate project objectives, timelines and budgets.
- 2+ years of experience in fabrication design or related field
- Proven experience within fabrication, product development, or prototyping
- Proficient in 3D modeling software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD, Rhino, etc.)
- Proficient in Adobe Suite
- Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding, machining, CNC milling, carpentry, 3D printing, and generic print production
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
