Job Summary

Kurt Manufacturing has an exciting opportunity for a detail‑oriented individual to join our quality team as a Quality Inspector. This position is responsible for ensuring manufactured parts meet Kurt's quality standards and our customer's specifications. Using a variety of quality tools, the inspector will thoroughly inspect incoming materials, in‑process materials, and finished products.

Shift

This is a first shift position working between 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.

Compensation

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $25.50 to $32.50. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

Essential Functions
  • May provide receiving, in-process and final inspection for quality, appearance and performance of complicated equipment, instruments or products, or of diversified parts and assemblies using precision testing equipment, including CMM, micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
  • Test finished products for dimensions, fit, surface finish, and appearance.
  • Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, non‑conforming material tags, and return material notices.
  • Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • May be required to devise unusual measuring or gauging set‑ups.
  • May make periodic spot checks of variety of parts in progress for adherence to specifications.

Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2 years of related experience
Preferred
  • Associate’s Degree
  • 4 years of related experience
  • Metrosoft or PC DMIS experience
