Position Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the quality and food safety systems within our food manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with BRC standards, FDA regulations, and all applicable food safety, quality and customer requirements. The individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain audit readiness, and foster a strong culture of quality and food safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and maintain the facility’s BRC certification programs, ensuring ongoing compliance and audit readiness
  • Oversee and continuously improve the Food Safety Plan (HACCP/Preventive Controls)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FDA, USDA, and state regulatory requirements, including FSMA
  • Manage internal and external audits, including BRC certification audits, regulatory inspections, and customer audits
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance policies, procedures, and programs
  • Analyze quality data and lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Partner with Operations, Sanitation, and Maintenance teams to ensure adherence to GMPs, sanitation standards, and food safety practices
  • Oversee supplier quality and approval programs, including ingredient and packaging compliance
  • Lead and develop the Quality team, including training, coaching, and performance management
  • Ensure proper handling of non‑conforming products, holds, and releases
  • Manage customer complaints and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain documentation and records to meet regulatory and certification requirements
  • Stay current on changes in food safety regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Quality Manager/Supervisor roles within a food manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience working in a BRC- and/or SQF-certified facility is required
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, FSMA (Preventive Controls), GMPs, and HACCP principles
  • Proven experience managing third‑party audits and regulatory inspections
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification
  • HACCP certification
  • Experience in ready‑to‑eat (RTE) or high‑risk food manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of allergen control programs and environmental monitoring programs
