Medical Device Assembler II

Location:

Plymouth, MN

Hours:

4:00 PM - 2:30 AM | Pay: 20.25/hr

Top Five Required Skills
  • Medical device assembly experience (minimum 1–2 years; catheter or small component assembly preferred)
  • Strong hand dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and SOPs
  • Quality inspection and strong attention to detail

Additional Requirements
  • Frequent use of a microscope for assembly and inspection
  • Primarily sitting role (70–80% sitting, 20–30% standing)

Job Description

This position is responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell environment. The role includes detailed assembly and operation of various equipment and machinery following documented procedures. Responsibilities may include electronic assembly, casting/coating functions, mechanical assembly, and packaging activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assembling medical devices and related components in a manufacturing or controlled cleanroom environment.
  • Using microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering equipment, adhesives, and other production equipment.
  • Following standardized procedures, work instructions, and SOPs to complete routine assignments.
  • Performing visual inspections and precision measurements on components and assemblies.
  • Conducting testing using computerized test equipment.
  • Repairing and correcting devices/components using microscopes and applicable tools.
  • Packaging devices and ensuring all parts and documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Cleaning tools and equipment according to documented procedures.
  • Properly disposing of hazardous waste materials in designated areas.
  • Managing multiple tasks based on priority and production needs.
  • Making critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards.
