About the RoleThe Plant Superintendent oversees the operation of one or more plants, ensuring health, safety, environmental compliance, and the delivery of aggregate products. Directs day‑to‑day activities including mining, processing, stockpiling, loading, and shipping. Plans, staffs, and supervises the work unit to maintain uninterrupted supply, maximize employee participation, and develop personnel skills for business growth.
What You’ll Accomplish- This position requires a self‑actuating, goal‑oriented person who initiates production and scheduling programs that increase productivity, maintain safe operations, and control budgeted expenses.
- Ensures employees are on time, engaged, and compliant with internal and external safety/environmental/compliance regulations including MSHA.
- Provides performance feedback to resolve conflicts and assists in short‑term resolution of emergency situations such as safety, attendance, and conduct issues.
- Administers supervisory responsibilities for production, maintenance, and shipping personnel, including training, performance evaluation, corrective action, and work schedules.
- Participates in and facilitates meetings; maintains accurate time and attendance records in the data collection system.
- Works with Leadsmen to achieve goals, studies production schedules, estimates worker‑hour requirements, and coordinates established activities.
- Collaborates with support functions to resolve production problems and assists in troubleshooting.
- Completes production reports on Key Performance Indicators, employee performance, process flow, and monitors efficiency, throughput, material use, quality, and inventory; may assist in budgetary recommendations on capital and labor.
- Investigates abnormal operating events or equipment failures, coordinates adjustments, repairs, or modifications.
- Performs inspections of completed jobs, ensuring conformity with policies, codes, laws, and regulations.
- Demonstrates commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies and promotes a culture of safety.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment, including respirators. Must be clean shaven to pass fit tests when required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
Preferred: Associates degree.
Preferred Field of Study: Production/Industrial Management and/or Business Management.

5 years of operational/production experience. - Preferred Licenses:
Microsoft Office, SAP, and Ariba experience.
