General Description: Looking for a tool maker with final fit and finish experience specializing in the high‑precision, hands‑on assembly and refinement of tools, dies, molds, and gauges. Capable of working with manual tools to achieve micron‑level perfection, ability to work directly from 2D/3D blueprints without needing step‑by‑step instructions.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:- Drill press operations of drilling, tapping and chamfering
- Plate de‑burring and straightening (Up to 24" x 24" plates)
- Learning machine shop operations
- Operate manual machining centers (Bridgeport, Surface Grinder, DoAll Tool Grinder, etc.)
- Operate machine shop hand equipment (Drills, Surface and Hand Grinders, Cut Off Saw, etc.)
- Operate CNC Lathe / Mill
- Operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
- Use various measuring equipment (Micrometers, Calipers, Shadow graph, etc.)
- Perform and document in‑process inspection
- Assemble molds
- Mold maintenance and repair
- Read and understand Cad Drawings
- Ability to work with very tight tolerances
- Lift and carry 5-25 pounds on a regular basis
- Work while standing for extended periods of time
- Regular and consistent attendance
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Keep work area orderly
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years Technical College or Equivalent Experience
- Machine shop skills or experience a plus
- Computer literate in Master Cam, Excel and Word
- Willing to learn new skills and attend schooling if required
- Work as a team member and follow established procedures in a new, well equipped, fast paced tool room
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet productivity expectations and deadlines
