Mechanical Assembler

The Manufacturing Operator B is responsible for performing line component assembly, individual sub-assembly, material and final washing, rework and repair operations, and pallet loading. The Operator B plays a key role in maintaining quality and manufacturing processes to meet company objectives and achieve customer satisfaction. Training will be provided to test assembled pumps using specific devices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work by studying job packet and work instructions.
  • Utilize available parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and materials to manufacture and test products.
  • Examine parts for correct fit and assemble parts and subassemblies per work instructions.
  • Verify specifications through visual inspection and automated measuring/monitoring equipment.
  • Demonstrate capability to meet standard productivity levels.
  • Resolve problems related to meeting specifications and communicate with Line Lead or Supervisor.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Escalate issues preventing the execution of standard work.
  • Initiate programs and operate test stands.
  • Assist Engineering in troubleshooting general issues.
  • Maintain product quality by following established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Promote and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Notify Line Lead or Supervisor of problems immediately.
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Participate and contribute to team effort towards daily metrics.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping to promote a clean and productive environment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 6+ months of manufacturing experience.
  • Prefer previous mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and tape measures.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Knowledge of production and quality form documentation.

Work Environment

Work involves standing all day during the shift in a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing environment. Exposure to oils, cleaners, loud noises requiring hearing protection, moving parts, equipment, and coolants is expected. Eye protection is required in all plant work areas, along with slip-resistant safety shoes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.86 - $20.86/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
