Mid Continent Engineering is seeking a Fabrication Technician to join our team!

This is a 4 pm to 2:30 am - Monday through Thursday opportunity. The 2nd Shift does have a shift premium of $2.00 per hour.

Mid-Continent has been a supplier to first-tier OEMs within the medical, aerospace and defense industries for decades. We supply the armed forces supply chain with products such as precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design‑assist services.

Perform basic set‑up and operation of press brakes, saws, lasers, plasma cutters, routers, drills, beveling, tapping, and other machinery equipment.

• Operate and set up a variety of machinery.
• Operate machines concurrently during wait times.
• Use shop equipment, overhead cranes, chains, slings, and forklifts safely.
• Communicate with co‑workers/supervisors to maintain a safe and positive work environment.
• Keep production at a steady pace to meet delivery dates.
• Understand usage of measurement standards.
• Work under minimal supervision and assist in training new employees as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Blueprint reading experience.

Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, fingers, feet, reach with arms; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision is required.

Must cope with Minnesota climate variances, endure heat and cold conditions in the shop, and handle heavy workloads and high noise levels. PPE including safety glasses, safety‑toed boots, ear plugs, and gloves will be provided. Office personnel entering the production floor must abide by PPE guidelines.
