CNC Operator – 1st Shift
This role focuses on operating CNC Haas mills and lathes in a collaborative, relaxed shop environment. You will primarily run CNC machines, but you will also support other areas of the shop as needed, including light assembly, bagging and packaging parts, and general labor tasks. The position offers a flexible 1st shift start time, as long as you complete a 40-hour workweek, and requires a positive attitude and strong teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Haas mills and lathes safely, accurately, and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Monitor CNC machines during operation to ensure parts meet quality and specification requirements.
- Perform basic machine adjustments as needed to maintain consistent part quality.
- Support other shop functions, including assembly, bagging, and packaging of parts when required.
- Assist with general labor tasks around the shop to keep production flowing smoothly.
- Follow established work instructions, safety procedures, and shop policies at all times.
- Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate workflow and resolve production issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient environment.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working in different areas of the shop based on daily needs.
- Contribute to a positive team culture by being willing to help with any tasks as needed.
Essential Skills
- Strong CNC operating experience, particularly with mills and lathes.
- Ability to operate CNC Haas mills effectively in a production environment.
- Basic understanding of CNC machining processes and shop practices.
- Reliability in completing a full 40-hour workweek on 1st shift.
- Positive attitude and strong willingness to work as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Flexibility to assist with assembly, packaging, and general labor tasks as needed.

Work Environment
You will work in a small shop of about 15 employees on a 1st shift schedule from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with flexibility on the exact start time as long as you complete 40 hours per week. The environment is relaxed and laid back, with a collaborative culture where everyone helps each other and employees may move between CNC operation, assembly, packaging, and general labor tasks.
The facility uses CNC Haas mills and lathes and typical machining shop equipment. The atmosphere includes typical shop conversation, and you should be comfortable working in a production machine shop setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
