Produce machined parts by setting up, programming and operating a Mill computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment.
Primary Responsibilities- Sets up parts in CNC machines without assistance or supervision
- Changes tools, adjusts heights and tool comps to maintain required quality output of machine
- Inspects products during the machining operation to determine if parts meet specifications, complying with established standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and calibration
- Follows all job work order instructions
- Runs more than one machine where cycle time permits
- Completes all required shop‑floor documentation for the job, including both part‑dimensional and visual inspection records
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions; reports to management/maintenance the need for machine repairs
- Understands and complies with company policy safety guidelines, quality systems requirements and housekeeping standards
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Position is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), Political Asylee or Refugee.
- Experience editing CNC machine programs and writing basic programs
- Ability to read and understand blueprints including GD&T tolerancing; profile tolerancing preferred
- Strong math background
- Demonstrated problem‑solving ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
While performing the duties of this job, continuous mental and visual attention is needed. The ability to stand for a shift, sit, talk and hear is frequently required. Lifting up to 40 pounds is required. Exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary and personal protective equipment is required.
