The CNC Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul Area. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision components for spring testing equipment and pet care products. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, performing machine programming or adjustments, and monitoring machining operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
The role involves inspecting finished parts to verify adherence to specifications, documenting measurements, and working with engineering and production teams to resolve machining issues. Daily tasks also include routine machine maintenance, adherence to safety standards, and contributing to a clean, organized, and collaborative shop environment.
- Proficiency in machine operation and safe use of CNC machinery, including setup and basic troubleshooting.
- Strong machining skills with experience in milling and working with tight tolerances on metals and other materials.
- Knowledge of quality control practices, including part inspection, measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges), and documentation of results.
- Understanding of general machinery functions, maintenance routines, and shop safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Previous experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar precision manufacturing role; experience in an engineering-driven environment is a plus.
- Relevant technical training or coursework in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field; apprenticeship or certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
