MIG Welder
This role focuses on production MIG welding and layout fabrication for custom industrial equipment, with a strong emphasis on reading blueprints, preparing materials, and completing welds on a variety of components. You will work in a growing, climate-controlled fabrication shop where you support the full production process from cutting and fitting materials to finishing welded assemblies.
Responsibilities- Perform production MIG welding on load bars, sensor brackets, handrails, safety fencing, and related components.
- Read and interpret production blueprints to understand dimensions, tolerances, and weld requirements.
- Lay out materials to be welded, ensuring accurate measurements and alignment prior to welding.
- Use saws to cut materials to specified lengths according to blueprints and job requirements.
- Work across different fabrication areas as required, supporting the full process from raw material to finished product.
- Proven MIG welding experience in a production or fabrication environment.
- At least 1 year of fabrication experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout drawings accurately.
- Experience with structural welding and fabrication of components such as bars, brackets, rails, and fencing.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication tools including saws, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment.
- Competence in sheet metal fabrication and machine operation in a shop environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Technical school degree or equivalent training in welding, fabrication, or a related field.
- Experience working as an iron worker or in structural steel fabrication.
- Comfort working with moderate tolerances where extreme precision is not always required.
- Willingness to support multiple stages of fabrication, from cutting and layout to welding and finishing.

The role is based in a modern, climate-controlled fabrication shop. The facility has expanded significantly in recent years and supports a diverse workforce that includes software engineers, installers, and fabricators. The shop operates multiple welding bays—primarily using MIG wire-feed welding
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
