As a G7 Master Qualified shop, Shapco offers in-house offset, digital, UV, large format, packaging, kitting, mailing, fulfillment, and e-commerce portal services to support comprehensive marketing initiatives.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Komori Printing Press Operator role located in Minneapolis, MN. The Komori Press Operator will set up, operate, and maintain Komori offset printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials according to job specifications and company standards. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting job tickets, performing color matching and registration adjustments, monitoring press performance, and ensuring accurate output throughout the production run.

The role involves routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the press, monitoring paper and ink usage, and working closely with prepress and finishing teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations. The operator will follow safety and quality procedures, assist with continuous improvement efforts, and support efficient workflow in a busy production environment.

Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience operating Komori or similar offset printing presses, including setup, adjustment, and routine maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of color theory, print quality standards, registration, and G7 or similar color management processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, production specifications, and basic technical documentation.
  • Attention to detail, strong quality control mindset, and ability to identify and correct printing defects.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills for diagnosing and resolving press‑related issues.
  • Capability to work safely in a production environment, including lifting materials and standing for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with prepress, finishing, and production team members.
  • Prior experience in commercial printing or manufacturing preferred; familiarity with UV, large format, or packaging printing is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing technology is beneficial.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, meet production schedules, and adapt to changing priorities.
