SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Production Supervisor is responsible for Plant-Wide activities on their assigned Shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develops and maintains a cross functional team to facilitate all production, material handling, and inspection needs throughout the shift.
  • Confers with other supervisors to ensure the production schedule and commitments are maintained.
  • Directly interfaces with all facility departments within the organization to achieve goals and objectives. Works closely with the Production Schedule to establish Production Priorities based on customer needs, machine availability, and labor constraints
  • Ensures departmental safety compliance to OSHA regulations, Near Miss and Corrective Action follow up for unsafe practices, and ongoing safety training. Is a Key Member of the SPG-MN Safety Committee.
  • Acts as an Emergency Responder on the shift; originates Accident Reports when an incident occurs for direct reports. Supports the Injury/Accident Reduction Program.
  • Improves production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes and implements those changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Provides timely reports and analysis as requested concerning various key production indicators and measurements. Maintains necessary time and production records.
  • Maintains the necessary controls and attitude to address and resolve personnel issues in a timely manner through the established progressive disciplinary action process.
Qualifications WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. While performing particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne to high.
