Inserting Supervisor General purpose of Job:
Oversee day-to-day operation of Inserting through scheduling, staffing, training & operating of equipment to meet customers job requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify issues, problems, and develop solutions in areas of safety, quality, and production.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment leading by example and assisting the supervisor in monitoring the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
Oversee the day-to-day functions of their assigned departments by providing guidance and direction.
Work to keep direct labor on budget as a percentage to sales.
Train and manage records of competence to Inserting Standard Operating Procedures.
Set-up materials and equipment for the most efficient production.
Read and understand job tickets and customer instructions.
Communicate using Microsoft Outlook to Account Manager when needed.
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate Inserters and/or assist when needed.
Conduct QC checks per standard operating procedures, ensuring quality of work is per customer expectations.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure prompt and accurate throughput.
Maintain organized, clean, productive, positive work environment.
Remain knowledgeable about current trends and advances in Inserting technology.
Operate forklift to move pallets, and heavy material.
Assists supervisor/manager in planning the layout of their assigned area.
Perform any other duties assigned by Supervisors. Education and/or
Experience:
2-year certificate from college or high school; or three months to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent training or experience. Language and Math
Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, and multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Physical Demands:
Often standing or walking, may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Often lift up to 30 lbs. Reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, & ability to focus. Work Environment:
Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes & airborne particles, and exposure to chemicals. The noise level is moderate to loud. Benefits:
