Packaging Machine Operator
Shift: Full-Time 1st Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM M-F (OT as Needed) Pay: $21/hour
Location:
Brooklyn Park, MN
We are looking for a reliable Packaging Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will set up, run, and maintain our packaging equipment to ensure products are packaged safely, correctly, and on time. You will be responsible for entering job specifications into machine control panels, monitoring product quality, and keeping the line running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Setup & Control:
Input precise job specs (such as speed, heat settings, batch numbers, fill weights, and dimensions) into machine control panels (HMI/touchscreens) before each run. - Line Operation:
Run packaging machinery (e.g., sealers, labellers, wrappers, fillers, or baggers) efficiently while adhering to safety rules. - Material Management:
Load raw packaging materials (film, labels, boxes, containers) onto the machinery to keep lines running without interruption. - Quality Inspections:
Inspect finished packages regularly for proper seals, clear code dates, correct weights, and accurate labelling. - Troubleshooting:
Make minor mechanical adjustments and troubleshoot basic machine errors or jams to minimize downtime. - Cleanliness & Safety:
Maintain a clean work area, follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and wear required PPE at all times.
- Experience:
1+ years of machine operator experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment preferred (will train the right candidate). - Technical Ability:
Comfortable using digital control panels, touchscreens, or keypad interfaces to enter data and settings. - Math & Reading:
Strong basic math skills (calculating quantities, reading measurements) and the ability to strictly follow written work instructions. - Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and bend or reach as needed to load materials. - Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 Per Hour
