Catheter Assembly Technician – New Product Development (Second Shift)

This role focuses on building complex catheter assemblies and sub-assemblies in a cleanroom environment, supporting new product development activities. You will interpret work instructions and production drawings, perform detailed assembly work under a microscope, and complete full catheter builds from start to finish. The position requires a high level of precision, strong documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with technicians on new product builds.

Responsibilities
  • Read and follow detailed work instructions and production drawings to build catheter assemblies, sub-assemblies, and full catheter builds.
  • Assemble catheters and related components in a cleanroom environment, ensuring adherence to medical device quality standards.
  • Perform microscope-based assembly tasks, working with very small components that require high levels of dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Use small hand tools to complete catheter and guidewire assemblies and other sub-assemblies as required.
  • Conduct visual inspections of assemblies to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document work accurately in travelers, Quality Management Systems (QMS), or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Perform final packaging of catheter assemblies, ensuring products are properly labeled, packaged, and prepared for downstream processes.
  • Collaborate directly with technicians and other team members in a new product development environment to support new build products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the cleanroom, following all cleanliness, safety, and contamination control procedures.
  • Follow all company procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements related to medical device assembly.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, technicians, and peers to report progress, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate patience, diligence, and consistency when working with very small parts and detailed assembly steps.
Essential Skills
  • 3–6+ years of catheter building and assembly experience in the medical device industry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders and production drawings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and document work accurately.
  • Experience documenting work in travelers, Quality Management Systems (QMS), or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • High level of hand dexterity with the ability to work with very small components, including those assembled under a microscope.
  • Demonstrated patience and diligence when performing detailed and repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Comfort and experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Experience assembling catheters, guide wires, and related medical device sub-assemblies.
  • Hands-on experience with microscope assembly work in a cleanroom setting.
  • Proficiency using small hand tools for precision medical device assembly.
  • Prior involvement in new product development or prototype builds within the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with device assembly documentation practices and packaging requirements.
