** Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
** Job Overview*
* We are seeking a skilled
** Automation Machine Builder / Assembly Technician
** to join our team in Plymouth, MN. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in machine building, automation, robotics, or industrial equipment assembly. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to build, integrate, test, and troubleshoot custom automated machinery and robotic systems.

** Key Responsibilities*
* ** Equipment Assembly & Machine Builds*
* + Assemble mechanical components, machine frames, fixtures, subassemblies, and robotic systems according to engineering drawings and build documentation.
+ Perform precision alignment of actuators, slides, sensors, tooling, and related mechanical components.
+ Install pneumatic systems including tubing, valves, fittings, and associated hardware.
+ Utilize hand tools, measuring instruments, and shop equipment to complete assemblies.
** Electrical & Controls Integration*
* + Wire control panels, sensors, motors, and power systems following electrical schematics.
+ Route cables and harnesses to ensure clean, organized, and serviceable installations.
+ Assist Controls Engineers with I/O checkout, machine startup, troubleshooting, and debugging activities.
** Machine Testing & Validation*
* + Support mechanical dry runs, functional testing, and system validation activities.
+ Identify issues during equipment startup and work collaboratively with engineering teams to resolve mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and programming-related concerns.
+ Perform basic PLC, HMI, or robotic adjustments under engineering guidance.
** Documentation & Continuous Improvement*
* + Maintain accurate build records, redline drawings, and change documentation.
+ Follow established safety, quality, and standard work procedures.
+ Provide feedback and recommendations to improve machine designs, assembly methods, and component selection.
** Collaboration*
* + Work closely with Mechanical Designers, Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and Manufacturing personnel.
+ Support field installation, commissioning, and service activities when required.
** Required Qualifications*
* + Technical diploma in Automation, Mechatronics, Machine Building, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience building automated machinery, robotics systems, or custom equipment.
+ Strong understanding of:
+ Mechanical assembly
+ Pneumatics
+ Basic electrical wiring
+ Ability to read and interpret:
+ Mechanical drawings
+ Electrical schematics
+ Pneumatic diagrams
+ Experience using hand tools, precision measurement tools, and shop equipment.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* +
Experience with automated machinery, robotic systems, or custom machine builds.
+ Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robotics such as FANUC, ABB, or Mitsubishi.
+ Understanding of industrial safety practices including lockout/tagout procedures, machine guarding, and risk assessment.
** Physical Requirements*
* + Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, and stoop.
+ Comfortable working in low-position or prone (lying down) positions for extended periods.
+ Ability to perform hands-on assembly work throughout the shift.
