Swiss CNC Machinist (Set-Up)
I'm currently partnering with a well-established precision manufacturing company that is looking to add an experienced Swiss CNC Machinist to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands‑on setup work, troubleshooting, and producing high-quality precision components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Set up Swiss CNC machines for production runs
- Operate Swiss CNC equipment to manufacture precision components
- Perform tool changes and verify proper tooling setups
- Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimize downtime
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and process documentation
- Collaborate with operators and production teams to maintain efficient workflow
- Work with tight‑tolerance components in a precision manufacturing environment
- Previous experience setting up Swiss CNC machines
- Experience operating Swiss CNC equipment in a production setting
- Strong understanding of machining principles and shop math
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers
- Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
- Experience working with tight tolerances
- Comfortable performing inspections using microscopes
- Ability to read and edit CNC programs
- Programming experience is a plus
- Experience with Citizen, Tornos, or similar Swiss machines is preferred
- Medical device or other precision manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical machining training or equivalent hands‑on machining experience preferred
