Now hiring for a Tool and Die Maker
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Pay Rate: $42.85 per hour
Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM-12:00 AM
  • Overtime available during the week and Saturdays as needed

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
  • CNC / Machine Tool Technology (or equivalent) degree or certificate (Preferred)
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of Tool & Die Maker experience or equivalent schooling
  • Experience with progressive dies, die repair, die maintenance, and short-run stamping preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints, perform layout work, and use precision measuring instruments
  • Experience operating tool room equipment, including CNC lathes
Job Duties
  • Build, repair, and maintain tooling, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures
  • Perform die repair and preventative maintenance activities
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to produce precision components
  • Operate tool room machinery, including CNC equipment
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify specifications and tolerances
  • Support tooling improvements and manufacturing operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous machine operation, manufacturing, production, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience performing machine setup, tooling changes, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Tool and Die Maker.
  • Toolmaker experience (1 year).
  • Experience with progressive dies.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift pounds.

What You Will Do

As a Tool and Die Maker you will operate, monitor, adjust, and maintain manufacturing equipment to produce quality products according to production schedules and established procedures. You will inspect finished products, replenish materials, identify equipment issues, perform routine machine checks, maintain production records, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

A Tool and Die Maker helps produce quality products through the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This role requires strong work habits, mechanical ability, and a commitment to maintaining production and quality standards.

The Tool and Die Maker combines equipment operation, product inspection, troubleshooting, and process monitoring to support successful manufacturing while following established production procedures.
