Location: Nico Products - Minneapolis MN
Starting Wage: $27.00 - $35.00/hour DOQ
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday–Friday + OT
Employment: Full-Time | Direct Hire

- Regular Wages: $56,160/year
- Overtime Opportunities: Up to an additional $21,060/year
- Weekly Attendance Reward: Up to an additional $2,600/year ($50/week)
- Profit Sharing: Up to an additional $4,800/year
- Signing Bonus: $1,500 for eligible new hires

Plus the $1,500 new-hire signing bonus.

About the PositionOur facility is looking for a Maintenance / Rack & Tool Maker (Fabricator) who can combine skilled metal fabrication with hands-on industrial maintenance.
A key part of this position is building, modifying, and repairing the racks and tooling used to hold parts during our metal-finishing processes. You'll need to be comfortable cutting, bending, fitting, and welding metal to create racks and tooling for a variety of parts and production needs.
This is not an entry-level welding position. Applicants must have a current AWS welding certification and be willing to demonstrate their welding skills onsite as part of the selection process.
When rack and tooling fabrication is not needed, you'll work as part of the maintenance team, helping maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility systems.
This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, likes figuring out how to build or repair things, and has both the fabrication skills and mechanical aptitude to move between welding projects and general maintenance work.
What You'll Do- Fabricate, modify, and repair racks, fixtures, and tooling used in production.
- Cut, bend, shape, fit, and weld metal to create racks and tooling for specific parts and processes.
- Determine how racks and tooling should be constructed based on production needs.
- Accurately measure, fit, and fabricate components to required dimensions.
- Repair damaged or worn racks and tooling when practical.
- Use welding and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Work from measurements, samples, drawings, job requirements, and instructions.
- Troubleshoot fabrication and mechanical problems and determine practical solutions.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
- Assist with mechanical and facility maintenance as needed.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and shop equipment.
- Complete required maintenance paperwork and documentation.
- Follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and Company policies.
- Maintain clean and organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Current AWS welding certification – required.
- Demonstrated welding ability – candidates must be willing to complete an onsite welding skills demonstration.
- Hands-on experience cutting, bending, fitting, and fabricating metal.
- Ability to fabricate racks, fixtures, tooling, or similar custom metal components.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to measure accurately and fabricate to required dimensions.
