Creative Strategist

Location:

Minneapolis, MN. The Creative Strategist at JLB is responsible for translating market and consumer trends into actionable business opportunities and providing strategic guidance to clients across retail, merchant, and brand functions.

Summary

Leverages trend research from global resources, trade shows, and digital analytics to uncover white space opportunities and shape assortment, product development, and merchandising strategies.

Responsibilities

Research macro, consumer, cultural, and category‑specific market trends using trend resources, trade shows, market tours, and digital research.
Create and present custom trend analysis reports that include macro, consumer, and product trends, integrating concise storytelling to influence product and merchandising strategies.
Lead creative experiences by directing the creative team to bring white space opportunities and merchandising concepts to life in‑store and online.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, deeply understanding their strategies and the marketplace to recommend opportunities that drive business growth.
Identify new brands, products, styles, and business opportunities that align with company initiatives and navigate the difference between fad and long‑term trends.
Provide strategic guidance and inspire action through trend safaris, workshops, line‑review support, and ad‑hoc projects, curating itineraries and ideation plans aligned with client needs.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree.
Experience:

6–8 years in trend forecasting, product development, or strategy.
Presentation design:
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint with strong visual storytelling skills.
Travel:
Some travel expected.
