Location: Remote/on‑site hybrid. While much of the work of this position can be completed remotely, in‑person presence will be required at various meetings and events. Organization BackgroundVoices of Hope, a prison music organization providing programming in correctional facilities in Minnesota, is currently undergoing a period of growth, both programmatically and organizationally. Founded in 2015, the organization recently established 501(c)3 status and has launched its first Board of Directors in the past year. Originally created as a single choir at MCF‑Shakopee, Minnesota’s only state women’s prison, Voices of Hope expanded its in‑person programming in 2020 to include a second choir at MCF‑Stillwater, a men’s facility.
Voices of Hope also maintains contact with a growing number of alumni in re‑entry.
The staffing structure currently consists of a part‑time Artistic Director and an Interim Operations Director, as well as contracted conductors and accompanists to support each choir. This position would take over and expand the work currently managed by the Interim Operations Director. With this growth comes increased funding needs, an expanded personnel roster (paid and volunteer), a need for regular relationship maintenance with many stakeholder groups, and a more complex day‑to‑day workflow for our small staff.
Voices of Hope is committed to developing the organization structure in order to support continued growth, create a healthy workplace, be good stewards of our resources, and continue to fulfill our mission to provide accessible music‑making opportunities within justice‑involved populations that foster individual growth and bridge unlikely communities through song.
