Wages

$24.00 per hour

  • Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST)
  • COPAL sponsors a retirement plan with 6% employer contribution after 90 days of service and immediate vesting

Schedule

This is a temporary, full-time, in-person position that may require some evening and weekend availability. The position will run through November with possible extension to regular, full-time employment.

Job Summary

COPAL is hiring an Electoral Organizer to lead voter engagement and electoral organizing efforts across Minnesota through the 2026 election cycle. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong political analysis with grassroots organizing skills, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is deeply committed to building community power. The Electoral Organizer will recruit and supervise volunteers, drive data-informed outreach strategies, and leverage organizing tools to maximize voter contact and impact.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute data-driven voter engagement strategies, including voter registration, education, persuasion, and turnout efforts.
  • Apply political analysis of regional and local dynamics to refine targeting, messaging, and outreach plans.
  • Lead Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts and coordinate election-day operations.
  • Track performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve effectiveness and reach.
  • Recruit, train, and directly supervise volunteers and volunteer leaders.
  • Build a strong volunteer pipeline and foster leadership development.
  • Set goals, monitor performance, and provide coaching to ensure high-quality voter contact.
  • Build and maintain relationships with voters, community leaders, and partner organizations.
  • Represent COPAL at community events, coalition meetings, and public forums.
  • Gather community insights and integrate feedback into organizing strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach activities, contacts, and volunteer engagement.
  • Utilize Every Action to support voter targeting, list management, reporting, and program evaluation.
  • Analyze outreach data to inform decision-making and improve campaign outcomes.
  • Produce regular reports and updates for the Political Director.
  • Coordinate voter education events, trainings, forums, and outreach activities.
  • Manage logistics and ensure programs are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate, including funder site visits, membership outreach, and donor phone banking.
What You Bring
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Previous experience working with Latine and immigrant communities.
  • Previous experience using Every Action or similar voter database systems.
  • Commitment to COPAL's mission and building community political power.
  • Previous experience in electoral organizing, political campaigns, grassroots advocacy, or related community engagement work.
  • Previous experience with recruiting, coordinating, training, or supervising volunteers, teams, or community members.
  • Strong political analysis skills and understanding of electoral dynamics.
