The Director of Student Ministry leads and develops the Student Ministry at Westbrook Community Church by creating environments where students in grades 6–12 can belong, grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and become lifelong followers of Jesus. This role helps students know Jesus deeply, build authentic community, and live out their faith boldly in everyday life.

The Director works closely with parents, volunteers, and church staff to shape a growing, gospel-centered student ministry and contribute to a thriving Next Gen culture. This person provides relational, team-oriented leadership through weekly programming, discipleship, volunteer development, events, retreats, camps, and ongoing communication with families.

• Lead & Develop the Student Ministry
  • Plan and oversee engaging, gospel-centered ministry opportunities for students throughout the year, including:
    • Sunday morning programming
    • Weekly Wednesday night student gatherings
    • Small groups and discipleship opportunities
    • Retreats, camps, and special events
    • Service and outreach opportunities within the church and community
  • Shepherd & Disciple Students
    • Teach biblically sound and culturally relevant messages that connect Scripture to
    • Build meaningful relationships with middle and high school students
    • Encourage students toward spiritual growth, leadership, and active participation in the life of the church
  • Recruit, train, equip, and encourage a healthy volunteer team
  • Create a culture of discipleship and teamwork among leaders
  • Invest in volunteers relationally and spiritually
  • Communicate vision, expectations, and ministry goals clearly
  • Partner with Parents & Staff
    • Communicate consistently and effectively with parents
    • Partner with families in the spiritual development of students
    • Collaborate closely with the Director of Kids Ministry to build a unified and thriving Next Gen ministry from birth through high school
    • Participate in staff meetings, church events, and the broader life and mission of Westbrook Community Church

• Demonstrates an established, authentic, and continually growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Aligns with the mission, values, and theology of Westbrook Community Church
• Has experience leading or serving in student ministry
• Possesses strong relational, leadership, and communication skills
• Can teach and apply Scripture effectively to students
• Is organized, self‑motivated, and able to lead teams well
• Works collaboratively and thrives in a team environment
• Pursues personal spiritual growth and models Christian character

• Flexible schedule with required Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings
