POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Building Manager supports MCCD's efforts to strengthen the community development field through member engagement, leadership development, network building, and sector-wide collaboration. This position is responsible for coordinating programs, managing member engagement activities, supporting partnerships, and implementing field-building strategies that advance MCCD's mission and goals.
The Field Building Manager works closely with the Director of Field Building, MCCD members, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen relationships, support leadership development initiatives, coordinate convenings, and foster collaboration across the community development ecosystem.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Member Engagement and Field Building- Coordinate member engagement activities, including outreach, relationship management, and communications.
- Support member committees, working groups, communities of practice, and peer-learning opportunities.
- Plan and execute convenings, trainings, networking events, and other member engagement activities.
- Gather member feedback and identify opportunities to strengthen member participation and value.
- Support the implementation and day-to-day management of leadership development initiatives, including the Emerging Leaders in Community Development (ELCD) program.
- Coordinate participant recruitment, onboarding, mentor engagement, training logistics, and program communications.
- Track program outcomes and support evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist in developing leadership development resources and professional growth opportunities.
- Support relationship management with community development organizations, public agencies, philanthropic partners, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain stakeholder databases, partnership records, and engagement tracking systems.
- Assist with coordinating cross-sector partnerships, meetings, and collaborative initiatives.
- Conduct research on emerging trends, opportunities, and best practices that support field-building efforts.
- Support communications efforts that highlight member achievements, leadership development outcomes, and field-building activities.
- Develop content for newsletters, reports, presentations, social media, and member communications.
- Collect and share stories, data, and lessons learned that demonstrate the impact of MCCD's work.
- Manage project timelines, work plans, and deliverables across field-building initiatives.
- Assist with grant reporting, data collection, budget tracking, and program administration.
- Support fundraising efforts, sponsorship opportunities, and partner engagement activities.
- Collaborate across departments to advance organizational goals and strategic priorities.
- Three or more years of experience in community development, nonprofit management, leadership development, community engagement, or a related field.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience planning events, trainings, cohorts, or stakeholder engagement activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience collecting and managing data, tracking outcomes, and preparing reports.
- Commitment to racial equity and inclusive leadership.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with membership organizations, leadership development programs, or coalition-based work.
- Familiarity with affordable housing, economic development, and community development systems.
- Experience with grant administration, fundraising, or stakeholder engagement.
